Modular Silo

Modular silo, as the name suggests, are large storage structures designed and manufactured in parts or modules that can be connected (bolted) together. Unlike traditional one-piece (welded) silos, they offer significant advantages such as flexibility, ease of installation and scalability.

Modular Structure: The silo body usually consists of steel panels (wall elements) manufactured in standard sizes. These panels are assembled on site using bolts and nuts.

Material: They are usually made of corrosion-resistant galvanized steel, epoxy-coated carbon steel or stainless steel (SST-304) for the food and chemical sectors.

Usage Areas: Plastics Industry - plastic granules and raw materials (usually as part of central feeding systems). Construction Sector - cement, lime, construction chemicals, micronized products.

What is a modular silo system and how does it differ from traditional silos?+
Modular silos consist of sections that can be assembled in factory environments and do not require on-site welding unlike traditional steel silos. They are quick to install, portable and expandable; existing storage capacity can be increased.
What materials can be stored in a modular silo?+
It can store plastic granules, resin, additives, salt, sugar, grain, fertiliser and other bulk materials. Food and pharmaceutical products can also be stored safely with the food-compatible interior coating option.
What can be the capacity of a modular silo?+
Botex System modular silos are manufactured in different capacities ranging from 500 kg to 50 tonnes. Thanks to its modular structure, capacity can be increased by placing multiple units side by side or stacked.
Is humidity and temperature control provided?+
Optional thermal insulation, humidity measurement sensor and ventilation system can be added. These features are of critical importance especially for long-term storage of humidity or temperature-sensitive materials.
Is relocation or layout change possible?+
Yes, thanks to its modular structure, you can dismantle, transport and reassemble the silo at a different location. This feature provides a great advantage for facilities where a definitive layout decision cannot be made before production starts.
